Pining for JM

There hasn't been much JM activity on the board for a while. JM is on temporary leave. First he couldn't get through to the board, because well, everyone knows the board is porn, right? But now the board is apparently just.... bored.

Well, for those who miss JM as much as I do, here is something to cheer you right up.

Paul asks, JM answers. What could be more Victardly?

Randyesque ethical dilemma

I've been asked to do a workshop by this organization outside Toronto.
For budgetary reasons, the woman who is setting it up wants to invoice
the event now, even though it's not taking place until the fall. She
told me to make "liberal estimates" of what my expenses are likely to
be, and she would "reimburse" me now, prior to actually incurring any
expenses. This was after I suggested a particular fee for doing the
workshop, which she accepted. Now I'm wondering if I lowballed myself
badly on the fee, as she keeps insisting that it's better for me to
err on the high side when estimating my likely expenses (she clearly
doesn't intend that I should pay back any money she sends now if my
expenses turn out to be lower).

What would you do? Make a good faith effort to figure out what the
expenses are likely to be? How much does a hotel in a suburb of
Toronto cost anyway? I have no idea. How about a rental car? Aren't
those like $500 a day in Canada? What about airfare? Should I "plan"
to fly first class? You see where this is going . . . Maybe she's
laundering drug money or something and I would really be doing her a
favor.

Milk those idiots.

Rental car isn't even a hundred bucks a day. You can rent a sick Benz
or something for five bills. Giver!

Hotel is Oshawa? Peanuts - because there are no *nice* ones, as far as
I know. Shit man, google "Hotels Oshawa" and see for yourself. There
might be an upscale B&B but I suspect little more than that.

First class air-fare all the way.

Also, you're going to want to include about a grand on top for the cab
to Toronto, where we will meet and party like it's 1999.

Seriously - maybe I'm unethical (maybe?) but this broad is giving you
the green light to rape the city coffers and I say giver.

Shit, I'd stay at the 4 Seasons in T.O. and rent a limo packed with
fake tits and coke to take me to Oshawa. It's their dime.
