Top Five

Not so long ago, Jack and I bought the movie High Fidelity on DVD. If you've seen it, you will remember that John Cusack's character spends the whole movie making top five lists. Well, after watching it I decided that I would make a top five Victards list.

Jack and I discussed our lists and they were pretty different. He picked the people who were funniest. I picked the ones who I thought had the most attractive personalities for dating purposes.

So I decided I would finally post my list. Of course it has to go in reverse order. (Oh, and Jack is excluded from this list because hey, I am just too biased when it comes to him... not fair to others.)

Note that this is totally based on posts. I have seen none of these people. OK, well, after this weekend, I have seen a couple of them, but it is still based on their board personas.

So number five is really difficult for me to pick just one. And there were more possibile candidates on the list but I couldn't make it a ten way tie. That would have been just too much. This is where the crowd starts to separate and frankly, there are some good qualities out there on the board. Paul is very even tempered, smart and funny. And hey, he makes conversational comments to his wife like, "You're kidding," "Get outa here!" and "Wow, that bitch is crazy." J seems like a fun guy and the fact that he introduces women he likes to his friends is a very good quality. I'm not so fond of the golf calendar thing he has, but--oh well. Counter. Yeah, I don't think I need to explain that one (and I don't know if I can.) Danny just strikes me as very sweet and he manages to read every single post ever put up on the board and still do his high powered law job. Plus he has a really cute wife, so he gets bonus points.

5. four way tie (Danny/J/Counter/Paul)

Number four is a little difficult also. Really I almost chose Shumway, but since he is not married there is information I'm lacking about him. So instead, I chose hurryup. He's a gentleman. He has an excellent sense of humor and his wife likes him. Something good is definitely going on there.

Now we get to the surprise pick. Number three is Alpo. Why, you ask? Well, in general he seems to be nice to his wife. This is an excellent sign. Also, I have never been able to get out of my head a post of his that I saw once in which he stated that in spite of having brushed his teeth, he still woke up with his breath smelling like p.u.s.s.y. That, in my mind, is the sign of an excellent date. Also, that whole thing about not being able to have sex with a woman unless he felt something for her. Awesome. I couldn't put him higher though because we are politically misaligned.

3. Alpo

Number two will not be much of a surprise, I'm thinking. JJ is smart, funny, and he obviously gets along well with his wife. Plus, although he's a little to the right in some ways, on social justice issues, we mostly agree. He likes to have fun and he doesn't dis women on the board.

And number one... Who else could it possibly be? Of course it's Joe Mama. He's funny. He's given up random sex for one woman in spite of the fact that it kills him a little more each day. He likes spicy food and he would eat bacon off a girl's body if she would let him. What more could any girl want? It's a little more surreal every day when I think about the fact that I was out drinking in a bar with JM only last weekend.
