I ask you, gentlemen: Could you really say no to this?
This song was originally sung by Patti LaBelle in 1975. It's been used all over the place because it contains the famous French question, "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi 9ce soir)?" (Do you want to sleep with me (tonight)?)
I heard it as part of a sound track the other night and it caused a discussion, one of those rare ones in which Jack and I disagree. I think it's hot as fire. Jack --who prefers punk and had never heard of Patti LaBelle--not so much.
I thought there must be a remake somewhere so I went searching for it and found this video. Take a listen and a look and let me know: Could you really say no to the line "gitchee gitchee ya ya da da"?
Keep your eyes peeled for the Top Five Victards 2008, coming soon.
